About Our Program:

St. Joseph’s Catholic Community welcomes you and invites you to make the initial step to inquire about the Catholic faith and all the rich heritage, tradition and spirituality that it can provide. We are here to help you on your faith journey.

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is a process of gradual stages along the path to full initiation into the Catholic Church. It consists of five phases which take place over several months:

            * the period of Inquiry

            * the period of the Catechumenate

            * the period of Purification or Illumination

            * the Paschal Tridiuum—celebrating the Sacraments of Initiation

            * the period of Mystagogy

Classes for those interested in joining the Church begin in the Fall. These sessions are not a class where one must pass a test in order to go to the next step in the RCIA process. It is a time of discernment in order to make sure that the participant truly feels comfortable enough to commit to joining the Catholic Church.
